PRODUCTION: Begins with the sun drying of overripe grapes for almost twelve days, followed by the collection of the concentrated grape must and its fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. The maturation is done in oak barrels and lasts two years.

TASTING NOTES:

A charming wine with orange and golden hues, which over time result in auburn brick red and amber hues. Intense aroma, complex flavour and hints of exotic spices. Rich round and velvety body. Sweet taste of honey, raisins and dried fruits which masterfully balance the acidity of this exceptional wine of the four varieties. The aftertaste is very enjoyable and long lasting…. as its exciting story!

PAIRING:

Desserts with good acidity, elements of nuts, caramel or honey.  Serve Cold at 7 degrees C.

This is a noble variety fairly popular around the Mediterranean basin and widely planted in other parts of Greece, as well. However, only in Samos does it produce the fat, luscious wines for which the island is known.

The White Muscat grape covers about 98% of Samos’ vineyards.

TASTING NOTES:

Samos Nectar is one of the finest wines in the world from overripe, sun-dried grapes.  It ages for 6 years in oak barrels.

Its color is deep amber, with beautiful orange hints, with a nose of raisins, dried fruits, honey and dried nuts. Good acidity, long aftertaste with smoky notes and macaroons. It maneuvers between aromas of raisins, plums and roasted cinnamon.  In the mouth one can detect hints of toffee, raisins, walnuts, mature oranges, cloves, intertwined with sweetness and “coated” with an amazing minerality that gives a completely new dimension to the sweet sun-dried wines.

The mouth surprises us with its freshness, giving the wine a leading role on the table. At the temperature of 12-14 ° C, Samos Nectar takes control of the palate and sends it on a journey of intense aromas and mature sweetness.

PAIRING

A harmonious and powerful ensemble that can easily accompany exotic sweet and sour dishes (eg wild boar with quince, duck a l’orange etc.), “strong” desserts such as baklava and walnut pie, chocolate and caramel desserts or with roasted nuts. It is also combined with strong cheeses such as stilton (blue and white), matured goats’ cheeses and various smoked ones.

TASTING NOTES:

Amber color with tones of chestnut brown. It has an unusual aroma and an unfamiliar bouquet, where the aromas of aging are dominant. The combination of spices, honey, raisins and lemon flowers are also present. Its intense sweet taste is in equilibrium with its acidity. This round, velvet wine has a rich taste which tricks the mouth between honey and lemon.

PAIRING: 

Best served at 12 ^oC. Alone as an aperitif or enjoy with light desserts made of cream with dried nuts or sweet spices.
